When it comes to the world of yachting, it’s no secret that bigger is usually better. Mega-yachts around the world have luxurious amenities such as helicopter landing pads, full ballrooms, glass bottom pools and onboard jacuzzis, and so much more. While these may or may not be the 7 most expensive or luxurious yachts in the world, they are all surely at the top of the list.

The Eclipse Yacht – $1.9 Billion
The Eclipse is the second largest yacht in the world at 162.5 meters or 533 feet long and was designed by Terence Disdale for Russian businessman Roman Abramovich. This yacht has onboard features such as two helicopter pads, 24 guest cabins, two swimming pools, a mini-submarine and even a missile-detection system for security. While this yacht is listed as available for charter, don’t get your hopes up, it seems this is just a tax loophole used to avoid European property tax.

2. The Rising Sun – $590 Million
The Rising Sun is a mega-yacht owned by billionaire entertainment mogul David Geffen that was designed by Jon Bannenberg and built in late 2004. The yacht was originally built for and owned by Oracle CEO Larry Ellison, however David Geffen bought half of the ownership in 2006 and the remaining portion in 2010. At 454 feet long, this yacht features a basketball court, multiple guest rooms, a luxurious onboard dining room and much more. President Obama spent time on the yacht in April of 2017.

3. Motor Yacht A – $440 Million
The plainly named “Motor Yacht A” is a mega-yacht with a very unique aesthetic that was designed by Phillipe Starck and engineered by Martin Francis for Russian billionaire Andrey Melnichenko. At 387 feet in length, this yacht can accommodate up to 16 guests at a time as well as up to 40 crew members on board. The yacht also has several unique amenities on board, for example a glass bottom pool. The unique design of Motor Yacht A has been described as being “more like a fish than a building”.

4. Dubai – $400 Million
This yacht, simply named Dubai, is the third largest yacht in the world, measuring 531 feet in length and is owned by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai and Vice President of United Arab Emirates. Known for it’s luxurious interior, this yacht features amenities such as a helicopter pad, circular staircase, swimming pool, and multiple guest rooms.

5. Al Said – $300 Million
The Al Said is a luxury super yacht that is owned by the Sultan of Oman and is currently the highest displacement super yacht as well as the most powerful super yacht in the world. The amenities onboard the Al Said are largely unknown, however there are a few that are known about, for instance an elegant dining room as well as concert hall capable of fitting a 50-piece orchestra.

6. Al Miqrab – $250 Million
Al Miqrab is a yacht owned by Qatar’s former Prime Minister Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani. This luxury yacht was the winner of the 2009 Motor Yacht of the Year award. Al Miqrab is capable of accommodating up to 24 guests and also has two VIP suites that include a bathroom, living room and double bedroom.

7. Octopus – $200 Million
Octopus is a 414 mega-yacht that is owned by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen. When it comes to amenities, there are no shortage of things to do onboard Octopus. The Octopus has a pool, two helicopters, a movie theater, a basketball court and movie theater among other things. With 41 suites on this yacht, this designers of this vessel clearly understood entertaining guests would be a key feature.
